ARCHIVE STORAGE Quite a significant amount of the Warehouses capacity is used to store old paperwork from a variety of businesses. Solicitors and Accountants make up the majority of our clients, as they generate mountains of paperwork that they are legally bound to keep for upto 20 years (though most is only kept for 7 years) Wooden Pallets (fully enclosed) We store paperwork in a number of ways, depending on the clients requirements. The most economical way is in wooden pallet we call our ENCLOSED PALLET. These measure 1 meter by 1.2 meters by 1 meter high and hold 24 small archive boxes. This system suits arechive that are of medium to low value and are not required back at your office very frequently.
Walk-in racked wooden Units An alternative to this system is called the ARCHISTORE. This also suits medium to low level If a high level of security is required we also have 20 FOOT STEEL SHIPPING CONTAINERS. These are both very secure (if good locks are used) and very accessible. Charges start at 6p per archive box per week depending on the typoe of storage you require. Please contact us for a bespoke charge.
20 foot Container hire We also hire containers out at clients own premises. Rates are competitive and our containers are of excellent quality. Please contact us for current rates, without obligation. Advice is also freely given. Alternatively you can hire a container based at our Ellesmere Port Warehouse. Rates are from just £20.00 plus VAT per week.
Directions Head for JUNCTION 9 of the M53. At the junction exit and follow signs for STANLOW and the BOAT MUSEUM (well worth a visit!). Pass the Boat Museum on your left and Ellesmere Port Warehousing (EPW) is 400 yards further along on the right hand side. Access is via Dock Yard Road. Our office is to the right, near the main gate. If no one is there please go to the dark blue portacabin located further inside the Warehouse compound where Ree Davies will help you.
SHIPPING CONTAINER BACKGROUND INFORMATION Some shipping containers are ISO or Intermodal rated. These freight containers conform to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) container manufacturing standards. ISO is an international standards organization headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. The term intermodal refers to the transport of freight in one shipping container by two or modes of transportation, such as truck and rail, or rail and ship. ISO or Intermodal shipping container types can be general purpose or dry, insulated, flat rack or platform, open top, refrigerated, or tank. General purpose containers are enclosed, box type containers used for general-purpose transportation. These containers are also called cube containers. Standard heights for dry containers are 8 feet 6 inches. These containers are also manufactured with extended heights of 9 feet 6 inches, and are referred to as high cube containers. Cargo is loaded from the end of the container. Insulated or thermal containers are used to transport of chilled and frozen goods. They are also used for temperature sensitive materials and products. The container walls are insulated, but the container does not have a refrigeration unit. Flat racks and platforms have no sidewalls, but may have end bulkheads. They are used to transport heavy machinery. Collapsible flat rack containers are open sided containers with end bulkheads that can be folded down when the rack is empty. Open top containers are box type containers with no top. These containers can be used to carry heavy, tall or hard to load cargo, and bulk material, such as coal or grain. Cargo can be loaded from the top or end of the container. Refrigerated, or reefer containers are used to transport of chilled and frozen goods. They are also used for temperature sensitive materials and products where a steady temperature must be maintained during shipping. Tank containers have a cylindrical tank mounted within a rectangular steel framework. These containers are built to the same standard dimensions as other ISO containers. They are used to transport liquid or bulk materials.A common usage in recent years is for storage. The storage container units are normally placed in secure yards and have lock boxes on them. Breaking into such a unit is very difficult. As most break-ins are random and relatively unprepared it is almost impossible for such an attack to succeed. | ||
