Moving on the Cheap....can it be done?

PACKING TIPS ....follow this simple advice for a breakage free move!

Packing up for your removal is pretty straightforward and can be made a lot easier if you follow a few simple rules .

Have at least 2 different box sizes, large general purpose boxes and small book boxes.

Work comfortably, possibly seated at a table. It is often better to take items to the table than try to pack them where they are. It is very easy to strain yourself if you persist in packing in an uncomfortable position.

Try and have the box you are packing into at a suitable, close position to where you are packing. This avoids straining to put items in a box.

Securely tape the base of the box, and when finished the top too. No point packing things carefullyif they then just drop straight out of the bottom of the box!!

TO PACK YOURSELF OR TO HAVE A SMOOTH MOVE PACK ....That is the question!

Booking our Packing Service can really take a lot of the stress out of your move! In one day we can achieve what usually takes our clients a week or more! But this is an optional service and you are welcome to pack yourselves. Advice here.

Older clients, pregnant ladies and the very busy in particular, find it enormously helpful to have our experienced staff take the strain out of packing there worldly possessions.

And there's no need to feel uncomfortable about having us pack, as some people occasionally confess to feeling. After all, it's our job and you have earned it!

The average 3 bedroomed house removal can be packed in one day by 1 of our experienced staff. Larger properties typically, but not always, require 2 staff. This depends, of course, on the number of individuals living there and there preferences ...people vary so much.

Although on smaller moves we sometimes "pack and move" on the same day as the move, we usually pack the day before the move and this ensures we are certain everything is in order for the main move day. Normally 1 day is enough for a pack on a 3 or even 4 bedroomed house, with 2 day packs being for our bigger moves or for clients with specific needs.

We offer various types of packs, aimed at suiting our clients needs. There are more details of these in the boxes below. We will happily give you the charge, without any obligation, for any type of pack with your written quote.

Normally we do not UNPACK as standard, but this service can be arranged for a reasonable extra charge. When unpacking we quote you to supply someone to help unpack for a specific number of hours.

Packing does extend your liability cover, the specifics are detailed in our Terms and Conditions.

IMPORTANT DOES AND DON'TS WHEN WE PACK FOR YOU.

CLEARLY INDICATE WHAT IS NOT TO BE PACKED.

Generaly we come to pack the day before your move. We expect clients to require a few essential items left unpacked until the morning of the move, where the removals staff will finish off. Sometimes items are not to be packed for other reasons. Please leave all such items in a suitable location, preferably with a note asking for them to be left unpacked.

TAKE PERSONAL CARE OF YOUR VALUABLES.

It is an industry norm that removers are not liable for loss or damage to certain types of especially valuable items such as jewelry, stamps, monies etc. (please refer to our Terms and Conditions for full details). Hence we advise that you remove these to a safe place.
